Under the Exchange of Medical Information Grant Program, VA issues grants for the purpose of assisting medical schools, hospitals, and research centers in planning and carrying out agreements for the exchange of medical information, techniques, and information services. Should the grantee fail to comply with conditions of the agreement, or with any law, regulation, assurance, term, or condition applicable to the grant, VA will suspend and/or terminate the grant, as well as provide the grantee with an opportunity to appeal VA's decision to the Assistant chief Medical Director for Academic Affairs. If the grantee or VA is dissatisfied with the decision, either party may appeal to the Secretary.
