Statute (Common Name):
Postal Service Reorganization Act
Brief Description of Case Type:
If a person receives mail that he or she believes to be "sexually provocative," that individual may request that the Postal Service issue an order directing the sender to refrain from mailing the individual additional mailings. If the Postal Service believes that the sender has violated the order, the Postal Service may issue a complaint against the sender. The sender may petition for a hearing regarding the complaint. After a hearing (or in absence of a hearing, if no hearing is requested), the Postal Service can request that the Attorney General apply to the appropriate district court for an order directing compliance with the order.
