Proceedings in which a party (e.g., individual, employee, licensee, contractor, or vendor) may contest an enforcement action by NRC to impose a sanction or penalty, such as civil penalty, facility shutdown, or license revocation, for violation of specified licensing or certification-related provisions of the Atomic Energy Act or its implementing regulations. Types of violations or infractions include: (1) discrimination against employees who are engaging in protected activities (e.g., providing NRC with information about alleged violation by employer; (2) deliberate falsification of information material to license application or renewal; (3) failure to comply with design or performance requirements; (4) failure to maintain or provide required reports; (5) failure to comply with terms, conditions, or requirements for license or permit. Violations subject to civil penalties up to $100,000/day.
