Grievance Hearings
This adjudicative scheme provides an avenue for Department of Commerce employees to avoid EEO proceedings and instead file grievances with the Department in order to receive relief in a matter of concern or dissatisfaction regarding their employment.
All procedures are contained in a Department Administrative Order: DAO 202-771 (June 08, 2011).

Comments/Notes on Adjudication Structure:
NOTE: This scheme arises after an informal grievance is filed with a supervisor or manager at the lowest organizational level, usually the employee's immediate supervisor. Within 10 days of the receipt of the decision of the supervisor, an employee can request a formal proceeding.
